With DRMtoday's Concurrent Stream Limiting (CSL), you gain full control over how many streams each user can play at once—across all devices and platforms.
Enforce flexible policies in real time, protect your premium content from abuse, and ensure every viewer gets the seamless playback experience they expect.
CSL helps you safeguard your business model, reduce unauthorized usage, and unlock new monetization opportunities—without adding complexity to your workflows.
Rules in Action
You are in control of the CSL rules that will be applied. In this demo, we showcase some common configurations.
Limit Streams per User
Concurrent Stream Limiting is configured to allow a maximum of 3 concurrent streams per user . This configuration can be used to prevent excessive account sharing.
It also limits playback to 2 simultaneous streams of the same asset, unless a third stream is of different content. This setup ensures controlled, fair access while supporting flexible business rules.
Viewer | Stream | Slots |
---|---|---|
Amy | Stadium | 1/3 |
Ben | Buenos Aires | 2/3 |
Claire | Mixing | 3/3 |
Use the button below to add users and playback sessions to see CSL in action.
Strict Concurrency Limit
Concurrent Stream Limiting is configured to allow a exactly 1 concurrent stream for each asset and user.
When a new device tries to play an asset that is already playing, the stream will be blocked. Use the controls below to add a Viewer. Try to add a device or add a new Viewer and switch to a channel that is already playing.
